The Great Lakes are a major contributing factor to the weather patterns of the Midwest and New England. They’re actual seas out there; Superior makes her own climate, and it’s not often a warm one. That’s opposed to the Mediterranean, which is a sea that creates a much warmer climate for countries like Greece and Italy, as opposed to relatively equal latitude areas like New York or Ohio or Illinois. And yes, folks, elemental combos exist. XD There’s Terranados, waterspouts, Pyronados. I wouldn’t really feasibly imagine an icenado but it might be possible?

We say something in Indiana. The first thing you do when there's a tornado is walk outside to look at it. 😋

“Raining cats and dogs” is a reasonably common phrase in the USA but even here nobody expects it to be taken literally. It just means it’s raining really hard.

That fire tornado was captured on video I don't know why they didn't show it

I have the films Flood, 2012 and The Day after Tomorrow, it really is denial back then but the more time goes by you witness such capable weather.

guys,
you did mention weird animals reported in the US otherwise known as cryptids, which range from sasquatch(bigfoot), to wendigo, dogmen, and skinwalkers, not to mention thunderbirds, and "riverlizards". oh, there's one place the US military refuses to train or stay in for long and that's skinwalker ranch.

Bird and fish rain is common in northern India. I can give you details if you want.

The main reason there's a lot of tornadoes in the US is because both of our major mountain ranges run generally north-south, so cold air out of the Arctic and warm air from the Gulf have an easier time meeting up and causing them.

You should see an actual fire tornado.

JOSEPH WALSH October 13, 2022 at 11:13 pm

90-95% of the tornadoes in the entire world occur in the US.

Too bad no video of ball lightening.

Umm, you guys do know that less than 4 months ago it rained fish in Telenga, India?

Mr. Unholy October 17, 2022 at 6:12 pm

India has had some odd weather events too. Look up the 25 July 2001 "Blood Rain" in Kerala. Spoiler alert: it wasn't actual blood falling from they sky but a lot of people thought it was at the moment. "Blood Rain" has occurred in many parts of the world throughout recorded history. In older times it was usually seen as a sign from a god about coming catastrophe.

They aren't quite correct on hottest temperature. In Texas there are two days that tied for first place. One in 1936, and the other in 1994, both hitting 120F (or ~48.9C). The hottest temperature ever in the US (which happens to be the highest ever recorded anywhere) was in Death Valley California. It was 134F, or 56.7C, and that occurred July 10th, 1913.

The "Summerless Year" left the UK so cold that people were ice skating on the Thames River in July…
