10 Places in NEW JERSEY You Should NEVER Move To

Wow! There are SO many bad areas in New Jersey!

New Jersey. The garbage state…I mean Garden State. Sure, it has beaches, waterfalls and easy access to both New York City and Philadelphia, but let’s face it, New Jersey has a bad reputation. It’s known for its overflowing landfills, public corruption and high taxes. And while there are some great places to live in New Jersey, you won’t see them on this list. The places we’re about to discuss help give New Jersey its nickname as the “Armpit of America.”

We’ve looked at a wide range of data, including crime rates, unemployment rates, poverty, education and more. Plus, we took into account YOUR opinion – that’s right – you New Jerseyans have a lot to say about which places in your states are great and which are not so great. Sadly, while New Jersey is home to the great Frank Sinatra, he’s not singing Newark, Newark. Let’s begin, shall we?

I don't really like the 'ghetto', or 'hood' parts of NJ, it ruins the rep.
I live in a very quiet and infamous town. Good education, nice citizens, clean streets,
A quiet little suburb. Wouldn't say NJ is a 'bad state', but I admit some parts ruin it.

TragicHeroMat August 20, 2022 at 7:36 am

It is the garbage state and that's why I left.

I disagree with your bullshit list. You have some serious nerve saying someone is opinionated without looking in the mirror

Jersey in 1994;
Hood. Ghetto. Rural poor white. Old school diners.

Jersey in 2022;
Townhouses, gentrification and foreigners.

Piscataway. NJ is not exactly for Caucasian people to live in. Piscataway is on the outskirts of New Brunswick NJ….lots of crime. Quite obvious who are the majority in Piscataway when you go to Shoprite and Aldi's…..so if you White…just get back on NJ Turnpike and leave P–WAY.

If you can make it in new jersey, you can make it anywhere. They say…

SmileyMakayla August 29, 2022 at 2:37 am

It’s really not that bad. 💀

no August 29, 2022 at 3:18 am

Glad Camden made it to the list. It’s actually not THAT horrible when it comes to violence (outside of school), there aren’t really anymore gun fights or too much robbing anymore since Covid happened, but it is still very dirty and not fun at all. I grew up here and I’m still living here unfortunately, that will definitely change once I’m an adult.

I used to talk so much trash about jersey until I moved here. I pay a shit ton of taxes but where I live there is no crime the streets and neighborhoods are immaculate and the education system is on point. People are aholes i agree. But only because they are protective over what the work hard for

my backyard view was the NYC skyline from Morris County. I loved growing up in North Central NJ. Took the train into the city every weekend….this was in 1999. Things have changed apparently. Glad I experienced the niceness of NYC. I now live in San Diego…not much better here.

Fallon Robinson September 5, 2022 at 1:25 pm

I was born in Trenton grew up in lawrence and princeton I think Trenton should have made this list!

J poison September 6, 2022 at 2:49 pm

I'm from Elizabeth NJ and one thing I hate about NJ is how long a mayor gets to be mayor they should cut down the terms of the mayors like NYC does. They sit and get greedy and fat off the people in these cities. And it starts with education if someone doesn't have education then they are more likely to wind up in jail which they get millions for. Its a vicious cycle. I'd always vote against the mayor where ai lived but people kept buying his BS.

ChiefinLasVegas September 6, 2022 at 5:18 pm

Ten seconds in, and did I detect a mistake? @0:10? Should that be “NJ” instead of “NY?”
