I have seen a video of a Tesla launching a jet ski, and they went in to far. Once submerged, the car caught on fire. Water and lithium batteries always equal a fire. Only a matter of time, before an electric vehicle is struck by lightning. Only question is, can the people inside the car get out once the electrical system is completely fried? Some car doors are electric only. If you own an electric car, make sure to keep a hammer under the seat. Give yourself and others a chance to escape the inferno! Maybe everything would be ok. But,don't risk it just in case!

About forty years ago I was in the northwest region of France. Coming out of the south and without money to take a hotel or the like, I went to sleep in my old car above Le Havre near Montivilliers. I didn't see much anymore around me, so I fell soon asleep. In the middle of the night I woke up by a loud thunder and saw around me an enormous amount of lightning striking trees and lampposts. Knowing that a car works as a cage of Faraday, I went to sleep again. In the morning I woke up and look around. A whole field of young trees was burned down and alle the lampposts around me were broken down. And because I had to work that evening, I live in Amsterdam, I started the car and went home. The car functioned without flaw. It was a pity I didn't have a camera then. It was sure an impressive sight.

Top 10 and it didn't include the video where a woman walks outside and almost gets hit by flying debris when the neighbor's tree got obliterated by lightning.

There's more than one kind of Insulation 😂

My ring finger cut through a piece of 12 gauge wire with lightning’s help. Piazza kidding hit by lightning are a lot better than you think because I’ve been twice.

I was walking my horse back from the arena after a riding lesson. It was lighting and storming out. A lighting struck close by and I just felt a wave of hot air. Me and my horse both booked it back

One small correction. Cloud-to-ground lightning comes from the sky down, but the part you see (which is most of the bolt of lightning) comes from the ground up. This wasn't always known. The cloud starts the bolt, but the actual intense bright branching strike (the bolt itself) occurs when the ground detects that first part in the clouds then shoots up quickly to meet the cloud. Crazy but true.

Read your insurance policy. It doesn’t cover lightning. Aw, and you thought you had insurance. Get hit and it blows the clothes right off ya. Embarrassing.

@joy2own December 26, 2023 at 5:56 am

I had to laugh at the Morocco clip. *everyone was fine. *we have no idea why the car was smoking. 😂

My house caught on fire 20 years ago when lighting hit out water well and overloaded the electrical box in basement. I will never forget that day.

@xChaosFlower December 26, 2023 at 9:23 am

My house was struck by lightning when I was in 8th grade (around 2008-09). I remember it clearly because i was in doors and steuck not once, but twice. The first strike hit the driveway right in front of my mom and brother as they were coming home and got out the car. The second strike hit the house itself, the next room over from where i was. I was playing a game at the time, and the bolt cut the power, shorted out my console and i felt a slight shock. Distinctly remember how loud it was. It happened so fast, all i heard was a BA-BOOM!

Half an hour later, we were wondering why our house smelled like smoke and soon after our neighbors were pounding on the door saying our house was on fire. We took shelter in our neighbors house while the fire department was called. Thankfully the fire only destroyed the game room but left a sizable hole in the room. Luckily insurance covered everything and we were able to move back in after a few months.

If a pilot isn’t risking his life then how is that fun? It’s the adrenaline it gets you going. You know like if you do a race and you don’t put in that much effort you’re gonna lose every time.

@ILSRWY4 December 27, 2023 at 2:10 pm

Two facts: 1) Lightning doesn't go down as stated in the video. The energy traves from ground up, the light is what travels down so it appears the bolt goes down. 2) Lightning wouldn't have made that glider "spiral out of control." Lightning does very little to aircraft since the airplane is not touching the ground. 90 percent of the time the energy travels around the plane's airframe harmlessly. if the airplane has electronics, sometimes there might be electrical failure but that very rare. And even rarer, airframe structual damage, but that is very very rare, less than 1 percent of the time.

@jerrypolverino6025 December 27, 2023 at 8:57 pm

There are four types of lightning. Cloud to ground, ground to cloud, ground meeting cloud, cloud to cloud.

The first video, i think lightning hit nearby and followed a or root of a tree!? I read it some time ago that you are in danger even in distance to a tree because lightning can go through the roots because of the water inside…

Very fitting for me to watch this today. We have been struck by multiple thunder storms today, going from about 4am to currently 4pm

It's a good thing that lightning doesn't kill fish. Because I imagine lakes and oceans get hit a lot.

@jbrone1965 December 30, 2023 at 7:41 pm

I was expecting a huge boom when lightning hit that tent, sounded like a light arc.

@ajjames8479 December 31, 2023 at 12:41 am

I live in Norman Oklahoma, we get hail storms, tornadoes, ice storms, but the scariest is the lightning storms. I've personally been to close to being struck at least four times, I've seen lightning do some pretty weird stuff. Cool video.

@lotusasche4183 December 31, 2023 at 1:42 am

My parents rented a house and it had a huge tree, not massive, had a trunk with a diameter of about two to three feet. The room that my younger sibling snd I shared (we were under the age of 8) was conveniently upstairs and at the front of the house.

Now I remember the night clearly. I'm sound asleep in my bed, an angry thunderstorm rolls in and I am suddenly jolted awake by the largest crashing boom that was awefully nearby and i do mean nearby, this strike was like 3 seconds long from the crack to the thunder. And being a kid, I fall asleep again. Nothing happened seriously in my little mind except that, it's another rainstorm.

Come morning, I wake to see that the large tree that was in the front yard, closer to the street had been struck by lightning, it had fallen over across the driveway. My parents had a service come out to get it before my sibling and I ever woke up. The only thing left was the cleanly sawed stump and smaller twigs, branches and chunks strewn about.

The distance between the house and the tree was about 20-30 feet from the house. Now that i think about it, the thunderstorms were always scarier during the time I lived in that same neighborhood till my family moved, everywhere else that I lived, they were not as scary. And since I'm an adult and have gone through hot summers and droughts, I love it when it rains. I get excited.

Edit: I checked Google maps and the trunk had long since been removed and looks like there is half foot diameter tree in the yard. The reason why the thunderstorms were much scarier was because the neighborhood was built on top of a burial ground. Last I heard, some Christian missionaries went in and prayer warrior the curse of discord and disharmony that surrounded it away and blessed the grounds. Its become much quieter and the neighborhood looks so much calmer.

Satan is the god of weather the Creator intended for all human beings to live in africa all other places are designated for the lake of fire you’ll notice africa is very stable no earthquakes no tornadoes and the land is rich with natural resources it’s scriptural and common sense

@terrybroadway2955 December 31, 2023 at 5:18 am

Any chance it can hit joes house again

@CodyJohnson-xo7xw December 31, 2023 at 8:43 am

There were magnificent flashes of lightning with many "branches" spreading across the sky.

@Biglyfish December 31, 2023 at 10:31 am

As an expert on lightning, this narrator is difficult to listen to. Think of lightning as a joint venture with electrical charges building up on the ground as the charge in the cloud passes overhead. As the electrical field builds up, multiple upwards charged streamers launch as a downward stepped leader heads to ground. Hair standing up is energy flowing upward. Only one of the streamers will connect and then the strike we see happens. They meet above the earth and conduct positive (down flow) or negatively (up flow). Failed streamers still act like lightning with energy coming up from the ground. This video is fun but, completely incorrect on the science of lightning.

Today i heard the scariest lightning sound ever in my life…. it sounded like a war started………basically like an attack MULTIPLE LIGHTNING STRIKES 🌩 🌩 🌩 🌩 🌩 🌩 it sounded like missiles

To the family whose house was hit by lightning, sometimes insurance companies don't cover "acts of God." Although I wouldn't think it was, the insurance company might.🤔

@user-bz2ob7tr8s January 2, 2024 at 8:11 pm

I saw an imminent strike to a giant pine tree driving down I-75 in south Florida. My hair stood straight up and within several seconds the percussion hit as I drove past the tree inferno…

@scottpool4777 January 4, 2024 at 9:31 am

That’s why we got lightning rods

@teamgonzo9289 January 8, 2024 at 4:08 am

The truth is we know very little about electricity.
Scientists pretend they know more than do, when it comes to induction.
Lightning never strikes in the same place, but sometimes it does.!??
You would die from heat four times hotter than the sun, if lighting hits you. But people live who are struck by lightning, all over the world, with very little, to no damages.
It's always according to whom, don't you think?
We've been listening to these idiots long enough. Lol 😅😂🤣
