My grandmother would give us ( her grand girls) a very small glass of Mogan Davis wine on New Year’s Eve. I think she put In half a glass of ginger ale.

hanging bananas is one quirk we Brits get right, or did, do you still? Ive lived in Canada since 1972 and have never seen bananas hanging in a grocery store, I hang my narnas in my kitchen, my neighbours think Im odd, but they do ripen evenly without bruising. Jam first on a scone..scone not scon tea is made in a warmed pot not a mug and milk goes in first so the tea doesnt shock the milk.

β€œOh, go on then” in Spanish is β€œvenga, vale… solo la puntita.” πŸ€“ which translate for β€œokay, just the tip.”

If you don't have anything to talk about, Brits always talk about the weather, it's the ice breaker for many starting conversations, works everytime

Leasehold property, you pay for an apartment or house and it will never be yours. You will be just a leaseholder not an owner, paying a rent for almost 80years. That's something peculiar

We have ridiculous excitement over fireworks on the Fourth of July, which is Independence Day in the United States, so that I can definitely relate to.

I’m actually surprised we don’t have a common thing to shout out when someone breaks a glass. We do tend to clap for them, (and often it’s the whole bar or restaurant applauding) or say β€˜way to go!’ when that happens. It usually has the same effect on the poor person who dropped the glasses. They usually laugh along or grin self-consciously and, maybe blush.

Number 8 in Scotland we use nip rather than pop, which is funny as nip is also used when asking the whisky, as you'd also say nip of whisky which is the same word but means different things just to confuse all non-Scottish folk
