kimberley dupper-daniel April 7, 2022 at 3:06 am

I lived in Anchorage AK in ‘64 during the Good Friday earthquake. 9.2 on the RS and 131 deaths including one of my schoolmates. I will never forget that.

mac madden April 7, 2022 at 4:02 am

Enough talking, get to the goddamn carnage!!!!

Brizzie Palma April 7, 2022 at 4:04 am

In my country, Chile, we have quakes every day, so for us, we are kind of worry if we don't feel one in a long period of time. I was in the 2010 8.6 earthquake, and that one was horrible.

MILDRED PIERCE April 7, 2022 at 4:40 am

Alaska had an extremely massive earthquake in the 60s. The damages looked like something from a movie except it was real

Recovery in Haiti was slow because the Clinton's stole all the relief money. Look it up.

General Ghost No Commentary April 7, 2022 at 5:59 am

three day earthquake happened here in Philippines in 2019. means, after in island of Luzon, the Visayas island were struck in the next day (particularly in Eastern Visayas).

Brenda Shelonko April 7, 2022 at 7:34 am

I read somewhere that in the 1906 San Francisco quake, many people actually set fires to their damaged buildings because the had fire insurance but no earthquake insurance. Supposedly that was the cause of the inferno. Not sure how credible this is, but worth mentioning.

Synch9256 April 7, 2022 at 10:31 am

Wow. Poor Haiti, just devastating!

You don't go outside in an earthquake. That's not a good thing those parents did.

Brian Johnson April 8, 2022 at 1:20 am

Interestingly, in the Hatian quake, it was all the world's support that resulted in a slow recovery.
The country was so inundated with free stuff (like shoes, clothes, food, etc.) for so long that businesses couldn't sell their wares and folded, effectively ruining the economy.

It was a nice gesture, but misguided.

If the Clinton's gave the money collected for the Haitians to them, they would be OK. But they stole their money same as the children missing because of the Clinton's.

I was in a shallow 7.1 quake on Gili Air island, Indonesia. Lasted about 12 seconds and the restaurant we were sat outside collapsed. Ended up killing about 500 people and flattened pretty much every building in the epicentre. Truly terrifying. The walls collapsed in our Villa. We slept on the beach and felt 2 aftershocks around 5.6 magnitude.

"Caught" on camera. Please tell me what that means to you, Underworld, and what you think this means to potential viewers. "Caught" means that unexpected footage was filmed. Do you think that's what you are showing? I found only still photography of events that had happened and passed. That's what we find on "Google Images". And on click bait.

When your dad sneezes: magnitude 20 earthquake, the earth gets thrown around, u ded man.

Aside from southeast Asia Sumatra, Indonesia. The Cascadia fault off Canada, Washington to northern California, is probably the biggest sleeper of devastation potential of them all as when it rips, the entire pacific ocean basin will feel it tsunami wise. January 1700 I believe is the last time it went full tilt boogie. The fault in its entirety is 650 or so miles long. You also, I believe, didn't mention the quake in anchorage ak in 64. Or did I miss that.?

LINEN PLAYZ April 11, 2022 at 6:05 am

I've experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 here in Cebu Philippines. The earthquake happened in October 5th of 2015. It was scary but otherwise ok.

Ah yes…. Hati…2010….. The earthquake that enabled the Clintons to scam an entire country out.of billions of $$$ and 1000's of lives.

Tesha Freeman April 15, 2022 at 3:27 am

Only a 6.1 earthquake??

Tim Prosser April 15, 2022 at 6:10 am

Perth, Western Australia had one of 4.6 in 1979. Small fry compared to some of these, but an interesting enough experience all the same, especially after the first few seconds of confusion and you then understand what's happening. First and only time I've seen a solid building flexing like jelly and brick walls come crashing down. Thank goodness we don't get them often here.

Neopolitan April 15, 2022 at 9:42 am

We were a couple of km's away from the Clark airport when the earthquake hit. We were sitting in the Clark SM mall when the quake hit. We immediately went under the table as the entire place violently, and I mean VIOLENTLY started quaking back and forth. We heard loud crashes and broken glass then about 45 seconds later it subsided. I gathered up my son and wife and we ran out of the building and walked all around the mall away from the structure back to our car.
We saw some damaged concrete walls and a few downed poles on our way home. When we got to our house I noticed a big crack in our carport area but no structural damage to our house.
Our one-year-old Lab was shaken and we had foodstuffs all over the floor.
This was as a close to death via a natural disaster I have ever come and it literally scared the Schitt out of me.

Welcome to chile

PapaBray April 16, 2022 at 2:50 pm

Just a fyi for everyone who listened to 6.08. DO NOT run outside during an earthquake. If you do you can be smashed by falling masonry like chimneys or shredded by falling glass if you're in a city or electrocuted by falling power lines.
You need to find a table or something to hide under. Hold onto the legs and stay there until it's safe. Everything said there is horrible advise.

Travel Chanel Bangkok Thailand April 17, 2022 at 6:28 am

Unbelievable 👌

Megan Hawkins April 17, 2022 at 8:49 am

running outside is the last thing you want to do. the best things is to get under a sturdy desk or table. 80% of all deaths from earthquakes comes from people outside and falling debris.
