This explains the phenomena also known as a cyclone with six conditions required for formation: warm sea surface temperatures, atmospheric instability, high humidity in the lower to middle levels of the troposphere. One of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded called “Haiyan” devastated Southeast Asia, primarily the Philippines, with the loss of 7,500 people on November 3, 2013.

If you live in certain areas within the Philippines, you will experience natural disasters like those who live in Florida with their hurricanes, California with earthquakes, Midwestern states with severe thunderstorms and some tornadoes, though not to the same extent as the US, and Hawaii with its volcanism, all combined. So yeah, being a Filipino can be challenging climate wise than most foreigners would think

In philippines when you say yolonda. It comes with funds. Yolanda funds. Billions of donations was stolen in Aquino's administration but they already got karma so its fair now.
Yeah the storm surge was probably the thing that made this so deadly. It was basically a tsunami. And you can do nothing about that super strong current, it just carries you away and if youre unlucky you get stuck or end up getting washed with endless waves unable to breathe and you drown.
Yolanda Was More Powerful Than Katrina And SuperStorm Sandy Combined π³π³π
man im so lucky to even survived as a babyπ
Its incredibly sad climate change has reached the point where its almost impossible to go back. AND STILL PEOPLE DO NOT GIVE A FUCK. untill theyre dying of it themselves they will just not care. most people should be damn ashamed of themselves giving your kids a world that is broken. yeah just let them fix it up? even tho were damaging it beyond repair.

A decade has been passed but still fresh in mind
Its been 10 years since super typhoon haiyan hits the Philippines π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί
The local government failed to order an immediate evacuation because they didnβt care. The mayorβs family was already ouy of the city before the typhoon hit. In the aftermath of the typhoon there was no presence of any form if leadership. The national government was as impotent as the LGU. Thank goodness that the US Armed Forces was on the side of the Filipinos. In the initial impact, it was a foreign response that helped the poor Filipino.
I'm watching clips of this documentary in my Geography class. It's amazing!!
I was thirteen that time now 21, I live 50 meters along the shore and another 50 meters beside a river known for its floods. I can still vividly remember what happened, the river flowing, waves devouring houses, all kinds of debris flying in the sky and trees falling apart, eventually neighbors fled to our house seeking for shelter, my grandmother (who was known for being the religious rude old lady) welcomed everybody with open arms shockingly. It was so heartbreaking and traumatic and I always kept in mind that some had it worse so I remained grateful still.

One of the probable reasons why this video got a lot of dislikes is because they used stock footage from a place where Haiyan didn't strike. The main place was the Eastern Visayas. Most of the media coverage was centered in Tacloban, wherein there were no massive infrastructures, no railroads, and no massive highways.
I cannot get over about super typhoon HAIYAN, I am 10 yrs old that time and 4th grade in elementary. At that moment I'm very very scared because we see how super HAIYAN landfall to our place. Now I'm 20 still fresh about that typhoon in my mind I still remember how we suffered that time while the typhoon is attacking to us and after the Typhoon. We don't know how to build again, we don't have a money a house and food also a clothes. That's why I started to LIMOS in highway to give us a foods or clothes and money. And now we're happy together with my Family, and we're still complete as before.β€ I'M THE ONE OF THE SUPER TYPHOON HAIYAN SURVIVOR β I'm living in Leyte that's the eye of the typhoon landfall to our place
We live in the capital. It's waaay up north from where the super typoon is heading but it still destroyed house roofs and uproot adult mango trees in our street. That's how strong it is.
That's also when the country changed its national typoon warning and added other categories. It's immeasurable that time.
11/20/23 12 days after the decade anniversary of Haiyan destroying south eastern Philippines, As strong as the 195 mph sustained wind estimate is..me personally I believe its actually STRONGER than that!! It had just the most perfect satellite presentation you will EVER see in a tropical cyclone, also is 19:16 real??? thats an INSANE storm surge
The Philippines won't be able to become a more developed and sustainable country in this region because of global warming/climate change induced disasters influx like Super Typhoon ,El Nino and La Nina.
The Philippines is a disaster conveyor belt tourism country.
Goodmorning and my respects towards any other Survivors be it typhoons or π hurricanes. I survived hurricane MarΓa
category 5 winds 285 mph September 19th, 2017.
Forgot to mention that it destroyed Puerto Rico, I went almost 6 months without water or electricity, no cell service the first 3 months
After Yolanda… 8 years later came Odette…
And why is the US exploiting this area?
We were in Da Nang, Vietnam when this happened, and we were watching this unfold with a lot of worry and concern, as we thought it might hit us. It ended up going north but it still caused a lot of damage in Vietnam, too.
Cringeee
They were force sometimes to smile by the media
READY NEW GREAT RAIN FOREST FIRST THIS WORLD COMING SOON
Not typhoon Yolanda
Proof Abraham is doing every devil work he can to destroy this planet and even tells us what he's doing. It's us or Abraham plain and simple America
this was called yolanda in the philippines. My family and I were not a victims but I remembered how teribble our government and politicians are at that time, we received lots of help from other counties and what those corrupt politicians did was dragging the help that should be given to filipinos. In the end a lot of foods and necessities that was given by a lot of generous people was rotting in a warehouse cause it was further delay since the politicians wants to attached their filthy names on the boxes and plastic bags before giving out the help that is needed to look as if they were the ones that given them out.
I know those folks were glad to see the good ole united states military arrive.
And 7000
Humans and all the choppers etc
To unload
3 tons of supplies I mean great
Job Iβm sure the people needed it but sounds like so not enough supplies for that many people π
All. People in treu words to watch in computer all to minds in element words all planets universe to life in all love family anemals in people's lives
This was such a tragic event but the only bright side about this With how intense this storm was Iβm glad this occurred in modern times because if this Storm happened in the past like in the 60βs because we Could be talking about a death tolls in the Millions and donβt get me wrong 6,000 is a lot of people but this was such a historic storm thatβs if this occurs in the 60βs who knows what the Philippines will look like today
I remember this storm I was working in Vietjet then. Grabee ang devastation nito sa Tacloban. Vietjet sent 2 planes for maintenance in LTP, they were loaded with donations to victims of Haiyan (Yolanda to us) Man, it was terrible the donations were rotting in the centers. VJA Management want to send the planes there but only C-130 and choppers are allowed. We were frustrated, there were so much help for Tacloban from around the world but could not reach them.
I'm just scared of the internet going out or the lights but that's a strong storm there is always alot of storm here but that's different
11k plus lives lost during that typhoon the media didn't count more missing people wash away during storm surge
you can clearly see their propaganda.
humans do nothing compared to one volcano or one typhoon/hurricane.
The woman that said it's so fine ;-;
