Dear Jana. Thank you for speaking about Ukraine, and you are so right in saying that we must keep talking about the war. I hope that the people of Ukraine will have peace soon. I have just knitted some hats for the Ukrainian army. I was made aware of the need for hats and socks for soldiers and civilians through the U.K. Hand Knitting Association. Their website has an address in the U.K. where you can send your finished knits to. The website also has free knitting patterns for beanie hats and DK 46:56 tube socks. ❤❤🙏🇺🇦

No need to apologize for anything you want to talk about. I appreciate your "real life" podcast, in all the forms!

Larry & Ellen Perry February 27, 2023 at 8:09 pm

Your sweater is darling and i love your podcast. You are so right about talking about the Ukraine it is really heartbreaking to see the country bombed.
I also have a question about the musselburgh hat. I have inly made 1 and ripped one out but want to try again .. how do you know when to add the different color in?i would like to try a 2 hat color

Never apologize for sharing what is on your heart! As someone of Finnish ancestry who grew up in one of the most Finnish towns in the US (Ashtabula OH represent) Russia’s threats to the region are clearly too real.

Thank you Jana❤💛💙

I love your dress. Do you know how the Finnish sizes relate to US sizes? Your vest makes it!

Thank you for talking about Ukraine – you're absolutely right, we need to keep talking about it until it's over! You have spurred me on to donate more money to support relief efforts. As always, a wonderful podcast that I enjoyed completely 🙂

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the war. I feel it needs to be talked about much more. I did a fund raiser last year and you have inspired me to start something for this year. Thanks again. If you inspire all who watch your channel just think what we can accomplish.

Thank you for talking about the Ukraine. I think it was the Dalai Lama who said something like if you think you are too small to make a difference try sleeping with a mosquito.

When people whose personal life and family has been impacted and live near enough to it and see it could happen to anyone…it needs to be said and people far removed need to be reminded. There is censorship and cancel in US ..media doesn't show the truth about events here or abroad. I love your channel for the knitting inspiration and your honesty. Understand this anniversary is hard for you and I applaud your restraint your eloquence and your example of compassion and positive actions. Our knitting makes us stronger and more human.♥️💪 Thanks for sharing

Esther Rubin March 1, 2023 at 7:21 am

Thank you for all that you do: helping, caring and of course share with us

Nicola Cockett March 2, 2023 at 9:28 am

I keep meaning to say how wonderful your little stop-motion section is at the beginning. Good to see you making such progress on your wips. Its vital that we keep taking about the invasion of Ukraine. This war is an evil that could so easily spread across Europe and the rest of the world. Sending much love x

Janet Pinkelman March 2, 2023 at 1:44 pm

Another great video Jana. I can't imagine what you heart is going through being so close to the war in Ukraine. We prayed for you in church Sunday and for others like you near the war zone. Cry out to the Lord to give you peace and hope and the joy of the Lord will help you. Will continue to pray for you. God bless.

Ritamary Bolton March 3, 2023 at 11:52 pm

Dear Jana, you are closer to Ukraine than many of us, but all the way over here in Ireland people are still very aware and active in helping the many Ukrainians who come to us from war torn areas. Nobody has forgotten. A certain ambassador in Dublin is feeling very uncomfortable with constant demonstrations outside his gate. You are not alone, even if it feels that way. Daylight is returning with the spring and hopefully the aggressor will soon be stopped, maybe by opposition from at home. I often think about you and what you are dealing with over there. Best wishes.

Rosemary Eveleigh March 4, 2023 at 7:05 am

The finished garments are lovely and the vest is one of my favorites the tasseled shawl is outstanding and I love the musselburgh you are knitting for you daughter. Yes we must speak about Ukraine keep it in the minds of all. Heipa sweet Jana

Andrea March 4, 2023 at 3:31 pm

We may. It be able to change the world, but we can do something to help our little corner of it. If everyone did a little, there would be noticeable change. /hugs

Leah Erickson March 4, 2023 at 6:55 pm

Thank you for all the wonderful ideas, the little things we can do to bring peace and solidarity in the world. Your new vest is lovely. I loved the old photos of you and your knits. I think you are doing a great good.

Lynn Niemi March 5, 2023 at 6:41 pm

Instead of bashing we should encourage – great words to live by, Jana! You are an amazing woman and such an inspiration! I am so glad that you can tell it like it is, and remain positive and caring. I always feel better after watching your videos

I don' t have words 😢

Tina Spencer March 14, 2023 at 8:49 pm

Jana, the No. 2 vest is perfect with your dress. I love the cropped look, it’s very flattering. Oh, and the color is beautiful. 😊

Tina Spencer March 14, 2023 at 9:01 pm

A corner to corner blanket results in a really snuggly, textured stitch. I highly recommend using it for your next blanket.

Corrien Dünar March 15, 2023 at 7:41 am

You've touched my heart Yanna. The war in Ukraine must not be forgotten. I am also knitting socks for Ukraine.
Take care you wonderful soul, greetings from The Netherlands 🧶🧡

Hi there,
I landed on your channel while I was looking for info about Finnish yarn as I will shortly be travelling to Helsinki and always bring with me a yarn souvenir from my trips.
I found your words about war very touching, have been volunteering as well last year in France where I live.
I’ve subscribed to your channel, will come back with pleasure. Hugs 🤗

Tassels?! I've not finished mine, because it needed something. It needs amazing tassels! Thank you.

Magelina Uke March 25, 2023 at 6:48 pm

I always enjoy your podcasts. But I want to thank you for speaking out against the war in Ukraine and against what Putin is doing in Ukraine and to the Ukrainian people. It is so wrong. We must not forget what is going on there, nor underestimate how devastating Putin's actions have been on these innocent people.. We must continue to support the freedom of independent countries like Ukraine, and not let tyrant countries run rampant. If Putin takes Ukraine, what country will he go after next?

Antonias Garnkaos March 27, 2023 at 10:56 am

Hi, I just wanna say that I love that you talk about the war. I found your channel a year ago when you talked about supporting Ukrainian designers and we try to do what we can from Sweden, we sent packages to the front with warm clothes and I contribute a small amount monthly to help organizations, but we all just wish this war could end. I read a great book by Oksana Zabuzjko that I felt explained this madness. It kind of helps me to understand what is happening so that's a tip. In the Swedish translation it's called the longest of travels.

N Sartain April 21, 2023 at 3:36 pm

Bless you. We all need to hear and think about the tragedy that is happening in Ukraine. ❤
