Everyone thinks we're so privileged, lazy, etc. We literally have the most extreme weather on the planet. People that have enough money to live comfortably are lucky, and many people are trying to survive in this country on the streets or in a car. Weather REGULARLY causes BILLIONS of dollars in damages. We're not the most walking prone people, we need our AC and heat, and we love our massive cold drinks because we need them. We do our best in a place where it gets to 120° F in summer and -30° F in winter.

i honestly hope our government holds those companies and their CEOs criminally and financially responsible for choosing to stay open when they KNEW ahead of time how bad this was going to be, simply because they needed those holiday dollars and that Christmas bonus and stock options.
