The woman had no idea what she had seen or had not heard of the Jersey devil so how does that work out when the woman had no knowledge of it and then seen it and didn't know what she saw

The average person has a terrible short term memory. And also tend to exaggerate or take someone's word without fact checking. You'll see it on social media every single day. I never post anything online that hasn't been fact checked or I haven't experienced firsthand for myself. I happen to have a photographic memory. And it's a blessing and a curse. Because the average person misconstrues details and information given to them. And without even verifying what they've heard, they'll argue with you about it.
Trying it next time you talk to someone online or in person. Bring up an event that you've either been in or actually remember. Listen to their version of events, I guarantee you'll be disappointed in the average person. That's why I don't admire witness testimony, it's too unreliable.
