So, the airplane involved was a Beechcraft Bonanza single-engine aircraft. Onboard, pilot Bruce Gernon had two passengers: his father and business partner. They took off from Andros Island in the Bahamas and headed northwest for the Florida coast. It was December 4, 1970. This was a typical flight Bruce had made dozens of times before! But this time would be different. They would face really unexplainable and maybe even mysterious thingsβ¦

This was in the 70s. So how could an experienced pilot along with the air traffic controllers not be aware to avoid the bermuda triangle that so many others in their past have vanished from?

As a pilot, this is absurd and with 600 hours of Bruce's experience still made him a relative novice. Bruce's story clearly indicates he flew through convective clouds (and he saw either his own strobe lights inside or worse yet, lightning). Anyone who has been near thunderstorms can attest the wind speeds can be extreme at times. Flying 180mph doesn't mean you cover that much distance along the ground since it need to account for the winds aloft. A 100 mph tailwind would have put Bruce in Miami in well under an hour π Simple math. Oh and yes, I've flown over the Bermuda triangle – no issues π Bruce's story of feeling weightless after leaving the cloud is quite funny, more likely it was the either relief he felt after knowing he survived flying through a thunderstorm he should not have or it was the weight he lost after staining his pants.
I'm a retired pilot that was based in MIA and I have flown that route several hundred times, usually passing over Andros to Nassau or islands further south east. The distance from MIA to the north end of Andros is about 125nm(not 250nm). 47 minutes flight time would be about right. Nothing mysterious there at all.
I've done a couple hundred flights in the Bermuda Triangle over a period of 17 years and never had anything strange happen.

This kinda reminds me of king kong…they went through a cloud similar to that and entered a whole new universe…this gave me chills π±π±

The cloud that looked like a dark tunnel with the light at the end reminds me of people's story of their NDE of going through a dark tunnel with a light at the end. Maybe this is the portal that we all travel through when we die to get to the other side.
