Disastrous Sledding Trip in Idaho!! We made our yearly trip to Idaho and of course we always have to go sledding. First stop was to get some snow gear. Turns out, Idaho got lots of fresh powder and when John took the kids off a jump, Madison got lots of snow straight in her face. Poor girl wasn’t too happy!

Archive of Old and New Events explores historic festivals and festivities of the future. This speculative project imagines an archive, established in 2030, with a mission for collecting and preserving artefacts from these events. On show are two collections; The Collection of Lost Festivals holds materials from events no longer in existence—an assortment of fragile artefacts from celebrations gone quiet. The other is The Collection of New Festivals which documents recent cultural phenomena that have emerged in response to new weather and climate. Both explore the consequences of strange weather, materialising cultural loss and the extraordinary human capacity for adaptation and celebration.

We are obsessed with the weather. It is a powerful, shared daily experience, offering us an immediate talking point with which to engage our fellow citizens. Yet when we talk about climate change the sense of guilt or powerlessness is enough to kill the conversation.
