Emporia is not bad. The most criminals are usually the ones driving on HWY 58 and I-95 speeding and having drugs in their cars. Every once in awhile we get gun shots…someone fighting at home or a drug bust. Nobody breaks into cars or houses. Its a small town so everybody is on neighborhood watch anyways. Everybody almost know everybody here. Take it from me. Im a born and raised here and Emporia is very bitter in the winter but BEAUTIFUL In the spring and summer. And fall.

In my opinion it has always been the worst place to eat ever. So no redeeming qualities for this place sadly. It's one of the places that is fine to grow up in but has no real opportunities for you once you're an adult.
