Most iconic car that even forgot the original car name
I still see a lot of Kombis in Brazil serving for commercial purposes, and their size is often more convenient for urban operators, while the rear-engined RWD layout gives it a reasonable cross-country capability at a lower cost than a 4WD vehicle. Had it been fitted with ABS brakes once it became mandatory in Brazil, I guess it wouldn't have been phased out yet.

My favorite episode cause it's my favorite vehicle ever, I can love muscles, jdms, electrics, supers and hypers, but I will always love this litte bus more, I grew up in one of the flatbed ones that my dad used to work (he had 3 of those), this car is so popular here in Brasil that you can see a lot of those daily, especially from workers who don't have the conditions to buy a newer van, cause it's reliable and every mechanic here knows how to work on those beetle engines

I was literally just given a 1990 Brazilian made kombi camper for free that was abandoned in a container. Not being a VW enthusiasts, I was searching youtube to learn about them. I am actually more a Toyota offroad enthusiasts (I also got a 2002 Hilux from the same container), but makes me appreciate it even more that there is such a strong fan base dedicated to them. so looking forward to getting to know the Kombi.

My first car was a 70 VW bus. Got it to 88 mph on a downhill so it can go faster than advertised. With that said, I would not recommend doing that at all. I mean, hell, as a driver you can look straight down on the headlight. Not really safe

I drove my ‘77 westfalia from Virginia to Seattle and what a long, strange and epic trip it was.
Here in Mexico we call them "combis" and were used mostly for public transportation in small cities and in Mexico city back in the 80s, They are so iconic that the new Nissan Urvans are also called "combis"
