Flooded areas look like the areas along the Mississippi river when it goes nuts and runs over the banks. That's most of the center of the country. Best lessons hopefully we have all learned…stock up, be prepared for almost anything, know what the threats in your area are and figure out what you can do, or "escape routes", don't sit around until you are in trouble and above all, don't panic. Then, got on with your life. If something is coming toward, go in the opposite direction if needed!!!! Things can be replaced, people can't.

i hope that cafe owner realized that he put others lives in real danger by staying back when everyone else left for safety ,, if he wanted to go down with the ship he should have never called 999 for help. goes to anyone with poor reasoning skills about staying in a dangerous area when all others leave.

I was flooded in 2007 in Gloucester. We had just moved in. We lost everything. Furniture and electricals never bothered me. What was heartbreaking was losing all the family photos and pictures of me growing up and pictures with friends

As ever no mention of global geoengineering of the weather systems and the damage it is causing. There can be no discussion about climate change without first addressing climate scientists and their use of geoengineering.

@kangaroo7525 April 4, 2021 at 1:17 pm

Maybe if the UK heats up some of the Brits down under will move back… for the weather

JESUUUUS…. HUMAN BEINGS NEED TO DO BETTER BY EACH OTHER, PERIOD!!! THIS IS A GREAT EXAMPLE HOW HELPLESS ANYONE BECOMES AFTER SOME CRAZY SHIT LIKE THIS OCCURS!!! GOD JUST CRYING AFTER SEEING TERRIFIED VICTIMS… THE FACT THEY'RE EVEN MORE WORRIED NOW THAT IT'S OVER & THEY'LL HAVE NO WHERE TO GO! AS AN ENTIRE MF GLOBE… THERE SHOULD BE A SET PLAN THAT AFTER SUCH DISASTERS OCCUR… EACH COUNTRY SHOULD BE TAKING X # OF THESE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE IN TO THEIR COUNTRIES, PROVIDE AIRFARE, HOUSING, FOOD, COUNSELING, HEALTHCARE, ETC. ROTATING DIFFERENT COUNTRIES UNTIL…. MF ALWAYS, FOREVER, EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS & HUMANS ARE IN NEED!!! UNTIL THEY'RE ABLE TO SAFELY GO BACK TO THEIR COUNTRIES & BEGIN THEIR NORMAL AS POSSIBLE.. GIVEN THE MIND-BLOWING SHIT THEY'VE LIVED THROUGH… BACK TO NORMAL LIVES! THERE'S NO REASON THIS SHOULDN'T BE A POSSIBLITY… THEY'D BE SO MUCH BETTER PREPARED, HEALTHY & HEALING IN EVERY SINGLE WAY, MENTALLY, GETTING AWAY FROM THAT AREA FOR SOME TIME, HAVE TIME TO DECIDE & PLAN THEIR NEXT STEPS BACK HOME, & KEEP THEM SAFE & TO FEEL SECURE KNOWING IN THESE EVENTS THEY'RE GOING TO BE TAKEN CARE OF & THEIR LIVES AREN'T OVER!
GOD I'M A MF'N GENIUS…. SURPRISE EVEN MY DAMNED SELF ON OCCASION!
GET YOUR SHITS TOGETHER HUMANS OF THIS GLOBE, SERIOUSLY… PERIOD BRUH!

@WOLFROY47 March 17, 2023 at 7:17 am

us old timers, can laugh at these youngsters, that only know how to twiddle their thumbs on their smart phones, and, their jobs in the offices, is pretty much the same thing. it never occurred to them, what happens if there is no electricity ? and no back up to stay fed ? i know, let's phone for a take away ? ? ? i know i should have, watched the Flintstones with the kids DOHH

@ellenbryn March 18, 2023 at 4:34 am

Poor UK. losing everything in storm surge is such a mess. The nightmare is bad enough, but then you have to clean everything up.

There's a saying in the American west: "turn around, don't drown!" Water weighs 62 pounds per square foot, about half the weight of concrete, and it sure moves faster. if you can visualize it as a river of concrete, it makes it easier to realize your 4 x 4 isn't gonna make it.

stay safe over there. Ironically I'm watching here from California which is totally flooded out, with seaside cliffs crumbling under houses

@cliffbird5016 March 19, 2023 at 1:51 am

part of the flooding problem is property developers building on flood plains and not telling the ppl who r buying the homes that they will get flooded everytime their is heavy rain.
Most dont find out till after they have bought their homes and the insurance company refuse to cover for floods. UK is over populated and not enough land to build on so they r building on flood plains just so they can keep making profits from selling homes.

@eurosonly March 25, 2023 at 12:31 pm

Why did they give the storm eye balls in the thumbnail?

@alisea1966 March 27, 2023 at 11:14 am

Sorry but those sea wards cannot be excused. What could be worse than all the baby seals drowning? That their mums would not accept them no more? Absolute failure. And then they find surviving pups and they raise them by the hand? I don‘t get it.

@guy4469 March 30, 2023 at 2:11 am

Wow she ran out in her pyjamas ,Most people round my way never get out off their Pyjamas ,they would say i ran out in my clothes i had the washer on at the time .

@paxwallace8324 April 27, 2023 at 5:22 am

Well be happy you don't live in the Pacific Northwest of America because Geologists are predicting a huge catastrophic earthquake up to 9.2 with accompaning Tsunami when the Wandafuca subduction zone gives way like it did last in 1700. It's about 50yrs overdue 🤷

@paxwallace8324 April 27, 2023 at 5:26 am

God I love the brits worried about their Seals 🇬🇧

@patrickdoyle9369 April 28, 2023 at 9:34 am

You don't just dredge rivers, you build sea walls and also now walls along river banks, or make the river banks much higher… there are things out there that can stop flooding.. However if you're going to live right on the coast and risk loosing you home that's built on nothing more than a sand bank i have no sympathy for you.. You cannot have it both ways, ie living in a nice place with nice views without expecting flooding given the fact that as the years pass by you DO BUGGER ALL TO PREVENT WHAT'S COMING.. Or are you thick as well as dumb.

The drainage systems need to be four fold, giving jobs to people. and lowering the risk of flooding, and problem areas that flood constantly need to be looked at to see what's possible to do in such area.
Also for those that live in such areas that flood on a constant basis, they need to pay much much higher INSURANCE premiums than those that don't live in such areas.. why should everyone else have to pay more in their insurance for your stupidity.

Times have changed over the decades and yet nothing is done in preventing floods.. The Government take million even Billions off people in tax's for climate change, where is that money gone..?
Because i see bugger all spent there or here where i live.. They take the money and put it in there back pockets and run…

@beenaplumber8379 May 14, 2023 at 11:41 pm

Well, should we be spraying for butterflies in the Amazon?

@johngrice2246 July 11, 2023 at 3:18 pm

Did i miss it or was the year never mentioned

@borleyboo5613 July 21, 2023 at 1:30 pm

Yes, I remember St Jude’s storm. I was in Ipswich that day and I remember it tore the facings off high rise flats and we lost power for a while. That year, Atlantic lows seemed to be queuing up to batter us. Like the one before Christmas Eve. I kept going out for a smoke and nearly getting blown away. Exciting times but not for the poor buggers who lost everything.

@charliegifford5526 September 2, 2023 at 2:03 am

The section between 24 and 29 minutes needs to be played in airports when storms force cancellations…. Many folks dont understand, but if they were told/shown that it was done for their own safety then attitudes may change…. Public need to understand that Pilots are just average people with a different skill set.. This doesnt mean they're superhuman and incapable of getting it anythijg but perfect. Even in the most challenging and dangerous of situations….
Well done and thank you too the pilots, cabin crew and airport staff on the ground for putting our safety before our ignorance of the dangers these weather changes pose to life ❤
