You nullified your argument with admitting you are in "the Pacific Northwest". Mississippi has issues, but seriously… considering the hell that areas of Washington state and Oregon are getting.. please stop.
The part about people being "dirt poor" is just a stereotype. I don't know many poor people in Mississippi. Plus, I don't see what you mean about the school system. Maybe you're just salty you never learned how to pronounce Mississippi correctly.
How some of these people even have houses if the economy in those areas are as bad as you say lol.

Delisle Mississippi falls under the Pass Christian school district which is one of the best in the state. Sad to see you constantly rag a state you clearly know nothing about.
I grew up in Meridian. Meridian has a very good education system compared to the rest of the state. We have one of the best nursing schools in the country. And yet our crime rate is so much higher than almost any city in the state. We’re called Murder-idian

Shocked to see Natchez isn't on here, but I suppose we've got some redeeming qualities. I'm not really sure what they are, considering there's basically nothing to do here, but I guess historical points are worth enough to not get tossed on the list. We call ourselves a city, but I know better than that.

My high school graduation class had a student that received a scholarship from MIT. Our valedictorian was in the top 10% of the top 1% of the nation.

I know this is a older video and i know its been said a billion times before i came to the comments, but any who, there are a few things about mississippi that barely anyone knows for some reason. There arent many big companies here and the companies that are here don't pay worth a crap. Thats why everyone is "poor" when compared to the rest of the state, but we make it just fine. We dont have to make $25 an hour to barely scrape by and even when we are barely scrapping by, we've been raised to live off the land in one way or another to help make ends meet. Everyone is generous and helpful because thats just how we are raised to be. I get compliments all the time for stuff i thought was considered normal decency. And all and all, there are absolutely horrible people here and lots of crime, if you live in certain areas, but there's bad people every where you go. Its just some are more obvious than others. And all this put together is why mississippi is one of a kind.
