The Oscars hasn't been relevant since at least around the time Braveheart won Best Picture.
Hollywood machinery actually managed to pull off a decent multi motion picture narrative and the Academy showed its irrelevance by being what they are: a bunch of out of date, old, white men.
I stopped paying attention around the time they handed an award to Gladiator, a cynical, banal attempt at a movie.
